LEED Recycling Arrows

LEED Construction Waste Management
and Recycling Dumpster Rental Service

Diamond Waste Services, Inc. is a LEED experienced waste management company that can help construction, demolition and building renovation projects achieve USGBC LEED Materials & Resources Waste Management Plan Credit for diverting waste material from disposal in landfills and incinerators.

The key word here is DIVERTING, which is accomplished by recycling construction waste and demolition debris removed from the work site via roll-off dumpsters. This may seem like an added complication, however Diamond Waste makes it easy with:

  • Dependable Construction Waste Roll-Off Dumpster Rental Service
  • Expert LEED Waste Management Plan Consultation & Site Evaluation
  • Free Documentation Reports for LEED MR Credit 2
  • Dumpsters for Single Source or Commingled Recycling Methods

Construction waste management and recycling are an important part of the LEED rating system and can earn your project up to two points with very little effort. All it takes are a roll-off dumpster and some Diamond Waste LEED know-how.

LEED Waste Management Plan Assistance

Diamond Waste has the right dumpsters and experience to successfully implement a construction waste management plan (WMP) and properly document the diversion results required to achieve LEED for New Construction Materials and Resources (MR) Credit 2: Waste Management Plan. Should you need assistance preparing a WMP for your job site, please don't hesitate to call, we're always ready to help out.

Accurate LEED Recycling Documentation

Accurate documentation of diversion results is critical for LEED credit. Diamond Waste uses a proprietary computer program to track job site diversion / recycling results. Regular printed reports throughout the work process assure compliance with LEED Construction Waste Management Credit 2 which requires a diversion rate of 50% for 1 point or 75% for 2 points. Diamond Waste LEED recycling reports distinguish each material removed, the amount thereof recycled and where it went. Reports can be generated by individual job site or for multiple sites throughout your entire organization.

Yes, that means we'll take care of the paperwork! Best of all there is no additional charge for Diamond Waste's LEED documentation reports - they're FREE! when you contract us to handle the roll-off dumpster service.

Start to Finish Service

Diamond Waste is with you every step of the way with dependable dumpster rental service. In the beginning stages of a LEED project we'll take the time to discuss and review the waste management plan and make sure nothing is left to chance. If you don't have a WMP we'll even help you to create one that efficiently and effectively suits the unique rubbish removal needs of your job site. Once work begins and our dumpsters arrive, we'll help build job site awareness of LEED recycling and monitor dumpster contents for LEED compliance. As your project progresses we'll take the time to regularly discuss ongoing LEED recycling reports and actively look for ways to improve results and avoid potential problems. After the work is completed we'll supply comprehensive documentation of recycling results and even help with the report narrative if needed.

Every day more and more jurisdictions are mandating green building requirements. Likewise, owners and construction companies are stepping up to this challenge.

What is the USGBC?

Established in 1993, The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a nonprofit, volunteer group made up of members from all segments of the building industry that is working to develop and promote green building practices and standards.

What is LEED?

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system is a voluntary set of building performance standards developed by the USGBC. Its goal is maximizing operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impact. LEED certification is available for all building types including new construction and major renovation. LEED is a point based system. Projects earn LEED points for satisfying specific green building criteria. The number of points the project earns determines the level of LEED Certification the project receives.

Some of the best thinking this country can provide has gone into developing and continually improving the LEED rating system. Membership in the USGBC is limited to companies, not individuals and not the government. For this reason, LEED rarely tells you what to do; it tells you what to achieve and makes suggestions for ways of accomplishing goals and winning points in the rating system. Depending on points achieved, projects will be certified by a third party evaluator and may achieve Silver, Gold, or Platinum status.
